My head is full of ideas floating around...

And I need more money to feed my sewing addiction. My only comfort is that soon it will be Hannukah and my birthday and I will have SOME money. I'm still job hunting, hopefully I'll get one soon. :)

Anywho - got some ideas floating around in my head, here are a few:

I've got 2010 MIRF gown pretty much all planned out. I'll put up a sketch soon with all notes.

I'm overhauling Red's outfit - the only things that will remain are the corset (though I'm remaking it at some point since it's not fitting all that well) and my hat. I will be putting my sketch up of that soon too.

For the annual Florida trip I'm still trying to figure out something to wear that I can take on the plane. Something nice without the hoop :P Those are hard to pack! I may try and whip up something Italian...who knows though! I will have one new outfit for the trip.

It's gotten into my head that sometime soon, maybe for Costume Con if I can swing the money for it, I'm going to make a replica of Helen's Parade chiton and himation from the movie Troy. I've been wanting to make something Greco-Roman and...well...it's so pretty!

For now everything is just a wishlist since I don't have money for them yet (and my sewing machine is at home)...but hopefully soon they will be real. :)

Since you are on such a blackwork kick, have you seen the newest Patterns of Fashion book that came out a few months ago? A good portion of the book is in COLOR! The sheer vibrance of the colored embroidery on the collars and cuffs is just striking. If you haven't seen it I think you would really get a kick out of it.

I don't know if WMU's library would have it or not yet. It's $32, on Amazon, but if you're into collecting 16th century costuming books it is definitely worth it. If you lived closer I would lend you my copy.
